Masonry buildings built after 1950 need maintenance every 20 years or so, depending on the craftsmanship. But masonry buildings built since 1990 need specialized services to mitigate water and moisture intrusion. Buildings built with split face block and other modern masonry products like "jumbo brick" which is brick-colored concrete and "Renaissance Stone" which is pre-cast concrete need maintenance more often than buildings constructed with common brick or buildings with a brick facade and block structural wall.
