Removal of capstone revealed that no flashing had been installed under the capstone to protect the wall.

Exposed gable reveals no flashing installed to protect the interior of the wall and no brick ties were installed when the building was built to stabilize the brick facade.

Brick and block walls fully grouted prior to installing brick times to stablized the brick facade and installing WickRight vapor permeable membrane and Vented Flashings to vent and protect the gable from additional moisture intrusion.
